You can always look your best!

I’m a visual learner, the more I watched video’s online like this one, the more confident I became. The more I practiced, the better I got. Ready to get started? you need a machine! Visit Amazon for easy shopping.

There are plenty of “how-to” videos on YouTube. Take your time, study your particular sewing project enough to feel confident, then just do it.

On this site, I have gathered some great reviews on other Brother Sewing Machine, and I have excellent resources for you to help you gain confidence as you begin to sew.

About Me

So here is a little about me, I created Sew Hem to encourage beginners to learn how to Sew but there are a couple of other reasons for this site too. I’m the type of person that likes to constantly learn how to do all kinds of things for myself and do it the best way I know how.

I started sewing because my wife and I  wanted new clothes but didn’t have “new clothes money…” so we began going to Goodwill and buying clothes that were still in good shape. Sometimes the fit would be a little off.

After taking some of our clothes to the tailors one day and seeing the bill, I thought to myself, why?! I could do this and we could save money.

So started watching videos, I bought my Brother Sewing Machine, slowly taught myself how to sew and there you have it.

The information on this site is some of the things I’ve learned since then and things I wish I would have had available to me when I first got started.

I’ve been sewing for awhile now, and I’ve done some cool projects since then…

  • Hemming pants
  • Hemming skirts
  • Taking in shirts
  • T-shirt quilts
  • Making curtain
  • Making burp cloths
  • Mending doggie beds
  • Sewing on patches
  • Fixing straps
  • Resizing a football jersey…

I hope you enjoy the site, check out my home page to learn why I believe the Brother sewing machines are some of the best for any level.

The money I have earned sewing for others on the side and doing my families alterations myself has paid for our sewing machine and some. Plus… it’s a great skill to have.

Thank you
Javi
